My Game Plan

As I said in my introduction, I want to be the change I want to see in the world.  So, you might be wondering- how is a seventeen year old, senior in high school supposed to make such a difference.  Well, to me, in my 21st century, teenage mind, the answer is obvious- the INTERNET!

I want to use this website as...virtual documentation of my journey.  I'll journal ever day for a month starting September 1st about the little things (or NOT so little things) I do to try to make a difference.  Then I'll explain why I find these thing important.  And maybe, as you read my journals, you'll pick up something I've said and use it as inspiration to be a better person in YOUR ever day life.

Now, I'm not saying I'm a professional.  I'm not saying I really know what I'm talking about- and I'm DEFINITELY NOT saying I'm perfect.  I'm just a regular person trying to make myself a worthwhile member of society.

I don't want to leave this world knowing that I did nothing to try to make it better.

With that said, PLEASE exercise your right to comment on my blogs.  I want to know what YOU are thinking.  Maybe with every one's insight this can become a major success.  Like I said in my introduction- positivity is a team effort.

Which brings me to my next point:

I challenge you.

As I go about my journey, you can choose to take it with me.  To do this you can either silently read this blog before bed.  You can share this blog by word-of-mouth, Facebook...

Or you can actually take part in it.

And I mean REALLY taking part in it- the positivity, the journals, the WHOLE sha-bang.

Whichever you choose to do is fine with me (I want as many people as possible to know about this blog!), but I strongly hope you choose to journal along with me.

In the end, you may not only feel better about YOURSELF, but I have a plan.  If I see that you have made a real, conscious, month-long effort with me, I will donate $10 to a charity of YOUR choice.  Of course, I'll have to approve it- I don't want to donate to the "Let's Steal Candy From Small Children Foundation" - but more then likely, whichever one you choose will be fair game.

I will do this for every person who documents their month-long efforts, up to 50 people.  To clarify, I will donate at a maximum of $500 OF MY OWN MONEY at the end of this challenge. (I wanted to go higher, but my mom keeps reminding me that I have college to pay for.)

I am also looking into possibly using AdSense- a program that allows me earn money by letting companies use my website to advertise.  However, I'm not sure if I can do that yet.  I'll have to ask my principal if it's acceptable.  I will go into detail about AdSense later, if it is approved by my school.

To document the month, you can email me your completed journals at ProjectPositivity2013@yahoo.com.  It is recommended that you use Microsoft Word.  If for some reason, you don't like/can't use Microsoft Word, just email the journals to me normally at the end of the month.  This challenge will start on September 1st, 2012 until November 1st, 2012*.  That means that the latest you can start this challenge is October 1st, 2012**.

*REVISED: This callenge will start on September 10th, 2012 until November 12th, 2012.
**REVISED:  The lastest you can start this challenge is October 11th, 2012.

Comment if you have ANY questions or concerns, as well as if you plan on journaling along with me! :)

Introduction to Project Positivity

Have you ever realized how big of an impact you have on society?  I'll use a widely known movie to illustrate my point- Avatar.

I'm sure you've heard of it.

Who could forget it's crazy special effects and heartwarming storyline?  Anyone who even mentioned the title of this...this...cinematic PHENOMENON had a part in it's success.  Don't understand?  Allow me to elaborate.

After James Cameron dreamed up this amazing concept, found the perfect actors and actresses to portray his vision, and said "ACTION!..."

After the special effects where carefully added, scenes were adjusted, and advertisements started rolling across the TV,

YOU leaned over to your friend sitting beside you and said, "Hey dude.  Let's go to that movie."

That's it.  That's all you said.  And you where apart of this seven hundred sixty MILLION five hundred seven thousand six hundred five dollar movie.

$760, 507, 625

Because you went to this movie, you raved about it to your parents.  That particular rave sparked your parents interest, and went and saw the movie.  Afterwards, they recommended the movie to their co-workers.  Then after THEY saw the movie those co-workers suggested Avatar to their friends.  Those friends told their post-movie waitress that they loved the movie; the waitress jumps on the bandwagon, sees Avatar, and tells her...her...INSURANCE agent!...

It's called the domino effect.  And it's powerful.

What would YOU do with $760, 507, 625?

Now just thing of what would happen if you used this "domino effect" everyday...Well, you already do.

Everything you do effects others.  Everything you use, everything you say, has something to do with what HAS happened in the past and what WILL happen in the future.

It's mindboggling- it's SCARY.

What would happen if I told you that you could be the difference between somone having a good day and a bad day?

What would happen if I told you that you have the power to end world hunger?

What would happen if I told you that you could stop all the hate and pain in this world?

Now, I'm not saying it could happen quickly.  I'm just saying that it's possible.  That it CAN happen.  It's just a team effort.  We are all apart of this thing called life because life cannot be lived alone.

It just starts with one person.  And honestly, I want to be that one person.  Not out of ulterior motives, but because I have been given one life- and I want to use it to spread beauty and positivity.  Not despire.

I want to be the change I want to see in the world.
